Gorgonzola Stuffed Bacon Sliders

Stuffing burgers with butter has been such a trend this past summer. Butter and me, well, let's just say we have a tight bond. For this dish I took butter, mixed with gorgonzola chunks and stuffed these sliders with it. This makes for the juciest burger you will ever have. And topped with Bacon; (drool)

The way to get the burgers ready, I would split the meat into 6 balls. Take one of the balls and split unevenly. 2/3 to 1/3. The botton will be 2/3 of the burger, creat a dimple in it as you see above in the picture, then take the 1/3 left and create the lid for it.

Fill the dimple with your butter mixture, please, be generous with this,. after all these are stuffed sliders. Need to pack these babies.

How perfect do they look? That blanket of cheese, I could just sink my teeth in them just like that, but wait! We still need bacon and the buns.

Here's how I made them

2 Heaping Tablespoons of soft salted butter

4 Tablespoons of Gorgonzola

pinch of salt

1 tsp of garlic powder

1 pound of ground meat

4 dashes of Franks Red Hot

1 Tbs of BBQ sauce

4 large garlic cloves chopped fine

Fresh cracked pepper

pinch of salt

6 Tablespoons of more gorgonzola

6 slices of bacon cut in half

Cheeder Cheese ( 3 slices cut in half)

Mozzzarella Cheese (3 slices cut in half)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Mix together you softened butter, gorgonzola, salt, and garlic powder, set aside.

  3. Grab your ground beef. (I think cold works better with the cooking, stays together more, room temp, I find the burger crumbles a little when it's cooking.) Mix in your franks, bbq sauce, fresh chopped garlic, salt and pepper and your burger meat is ready to be formed.

  4. Split your meat into 6 equal portions.

  5. With each portion take away 1/3 of it.

  6. Take 2/3 of the meat and form into a small patty, with a large dimple in the center. With the rest of that portion (the 1/3) flatten to make a small disc, this will be the lid to the buger.

  7. So you will have 6 sliders with dimples and 6 lids.

  8. Now, fill your sliders with a heaping tablespoon of your butter filling

  9. Top each slider with their lids and pinch around the edges to make the burger whole. Make sure no cracks are left behind, we want that butter to stay inside the burger.

  10. Place these burger in melted butter over medium heat and let cook 5 minutes each side.

  11. Do not mess with the burgers otherwise, let them do their thing.

  12. Once they are cooked place your burgers on a foil lined baking pan and top each one with a tablespoon of gorgonzola and your cheese. Each burger wil half half a slice of sharp cheddar and half a slice of mozzarella.

  13. Place them in the oven for about 5 minutes until cheese becomes soft.

  14. While that's happening cook your bacon.

  15. When the burgers are done, put on the broiler for about 3 minutes with the oven door open and make sure to keep an eye on them. The cheese will become super bubbly and gooey.

  16. Take them out, let them sit for a minute, assemble and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Servings: 3 (2 sliders each)

Cook time: 20 minutes
