Garlicky Jalapeno Popper Pizza with a Zesty Crust

Jalapeno poppers are one of my favorite appetizers. Pizza is my favorite overall, I thought of combining the two and it worked out pretty nicely as you can see! A zesty ranch crust, topped with onions, cheese and jalapeno, crust sprinkled with bread crumbs, and topped with bacon.....I mean, hey, popper pizza!

Coming at cha!! Perfect to serve for football Sundays.

Here's how I made it!


3 c flour

1 packet of active dry yeast (2 ½ tsp)

2 Tbs olive oil

Pinch of salt

1 Tbs sugar

1 c warm water

1 packet of ranch dressing seasoning

Few cracks of fresh black pepper

1 ounce cream cheese

5 garlic cloves minced

Half a medium red onion sliced into rings

½ c fresh mozzarella chunks

1 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese

½ c extra sharp white cheddar cheese

2 jalapenos (sliced and deveined)

4 Tbs seasoned breadcrumbs

6 slices of cooked crispy bacon


  1. Mix the yeast, sugar and warm water together and let sit for 10 minutes

  2. Then mix in the oil, flour, salt, pepper and ranch seasoning, using a dough hook, until well combined, about 10 minutes.

  3. Drizzle the dough ball with olive oil, cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 ½ - 2 hours.

  4. Once the dough has risen, take out of the bowl and form onto your baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  5. Spread the cream cheese over the crust then sprinkle over with the minced garlic.

  6. Next place your cheese in blobs, instead of combining all the cheese and then sprinkling over, just place in spots over the pizza, makes the pizza pretty and you won’t lose that orange cheddar color, which makes this pizza resemble a popper!

  7. Top with the red onion slices and jalapeno slices, keep the seeds if you like heat, otherwise make sure you clean the jalapeno.

  8. Lastly sprinkle the bread crumbs over the crust, this adds a nice texture to the pizza and also resembles the outer crispy coating of a popper.

  9. Bake for about 15 minutes, until crust is browned and cheese is all melty and gooey.

  10. While the pizza cooks, cook your bacon until very crispy, cut into large pieces.

  11. When the pizza is done top with the crispy bacon, cut and serve.
