Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies
Can I just admit, that these almost did not even make it to the oven. It was close....
The batter consists of three different types of chocolate. I wanted to get these babies as chocolate-y as I could. And how can you go wrong with peanut butter? You just....can't.
But those swirls......do you want to just eat this as is? That is what I meant earlier. This seriously almost didn't make it any farther. A spoon and the couch would have been just fine with me.
But the wait just paid off. They came out beautifully. So forget the boxed! This recipe is only a few simple ingredients and i'm sure you already have 90% of them. The only thing really is the chocolate. You gotta use really good chocolate. It makes a world of a difference.
4 oz semi sweet chocoalte
4 oz dark chocolate
8 Tbs butter (or coconut oil)
1/3 c sugar
1 Tbs vanilla
2/3 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
3 Tbs dark cocoa powder
1 c creamy peanut butter
Preheat oven to 325 & butter an 8x8 pan.
In a heat proof bowl, add the chocolates and butter. Place over a pot of simmering water, to create a double boiler, and stir occasionally until metled.
As that melted, in a small bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa.
When chocolate is all melted, let cool for about 5 minutes then add in your sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix well.
To the chocolate batter, add in the dry ingredients and mix until JUST combined. You don't want to over mix this.
Now ready for the pan! Add 1/3 of your batter into the dish, followed by 9 Tbs of peanut butter, rows of 3.
Cover with remaining batter and top again with 9 Tbs of peanut butter.
Now for the swirls, grab the sharped knife you have (or you can use a toothpick) and swirl, swirl, swirl! This is where your creative side can come out.
When done, bake for about 12-16 minutes, just keep an eye on it.
Let cool for 15 minutes and INDULGE! Enjoy my brownie lovers!
