Pepper Shooter Pizza

June 15, 2015

Pepper Shooters. Alone they are a gift.

I remember buying them in huge jars from BJ's and literally eating one after another. Sweet, Satly, Spicy and DELISH.

Well why not put them on pizza???

This pizza will rock your world - to all my Italians.

Super easy to make too - why?

Ok yeah I used pre-made crust.I had no time!!

But don't judge me.

Really all you need are a few simple ingredients and make sure to get the best - the best cheese and best prosciutto.

The chives - yeah It was a last minute thing - to add color and they were the perfect garnish for this pizza.

I'm telling you - you'll go back for seconds, thirds, ninths.....

I mean The garlic paste though......

It's magical.

If you can invest in a mortar and pestle DO IT. This one was I think $13 from homegoods and it's such a good tool to have in the kitchen.

Did I mention I love Garlic?

Now if you want to make this even simplier - buy already made shooters in a jar - they're super tasty and the marinade would be a great dipping sauce!!

Drool. Enjoy my Shooter Friends.

 Ingredients:

  • ½ c good olive oil

  • 5 large garlic cloves

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 3 Tbs grated parmesan cheese

  • Pillsbury Pizza Dough (shhhhhh – I had NO time to make my own)

  • Good Mozzarella Cheese

  • Good Provolone Cheese (block perferably)

  • Red and Green Cherry Peppers

  • Really good Prosciutto

Directions:

  1. With a Mortar and Pestle grind the garlic and olive oil together until a paste forms. Add in the salt and parmesan mix and set aside.

  2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  3. For the dough, form into an oval – or any shape you want.

  4. Place on a greased baking sheet – poke a few holes in it so bubbles don’t form and bake for 15 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile – slice the cherry peppers in half and pull out the seeds and stuff with a small piece of prosciutto and a small chunk of provolone – set aside. Cut up the remaining provolone & set aside.

  6. Slice up the mozzarella – set aside.

  7. When the pizza dough is slightly browned take out and top with the garlic olive oil spread, mozzarella, provolone and halved filled shooters.

  8. Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

  9. When bubbly and slightly browned take out and ENJOY!!!
