Perfect Pizza Crust (every time)

Ready for the best pizza crust recipe.....eva?

I'll show you step by step.

This took me two years. TWO YEARS. Of alterting pizza dough, with little things - some came out bad. Some came out quite great - just not perfect.

This recipe will give you that perfect crispy edge and chewy center. Every time. One factor is cooking this dough on a pizza stone - you gotta have a pizza stone!

Ok ready....



First - get your yeast, warm water and honey in your bowl. Mix a bit and let sit until done.


And After.....

I love this stuff. Smells like pizza too.

Now add in your flours - This was the Key that I missed. And the amounts used. These two flours creat that chewy center. Mmmmm pizza.

Now mix until all ingredients are combined, the dough shapes itself into a ball and isn't sticking to your fingers.

Ok - you're now ready to let that baby rise.

In a greased bowl - with olive oil or canola (whichever you have on hand) lay your dough ball in and cover with a tea towel.

Let rise for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

And then......when the time has come....

You'll see the dough doubled in size!!!

Just beautiful.

Now you have your pizza dough. To get ready to use - dump out your dough onto a floured surface or a pizza peel.

Cut in half - this makes two pizzas or one large one.

You can place the other ball for later use - store in oiled bowl you initially used and cover tightly with plastic wrap and tin foil. Can be stored up to 2 days.

Flour the one dough ball and then form into your desired crust shape using your fingers and a rolling pin.

Top with desired sauces and toppings and ENJOY!!! My pizza lovers.


  • 1 tsp dry active yeast

  • 1 c very warm water

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 c all purpose flour

  • 1 ¼ c bread flour

  • Pinch of kosher salt

  • Olive oil


  1. In a stand mixer or bowl, combine yeast, water and honey – mix to combine. Let sit for 10 minutes.

  2. When ready – add in the flours and salt.

  3. Turn mixer on or knead by hand – until dough is combined, in a ball and doesn’t stick to sides of bowl. If a bit sticky add a little more flour, not much! This recipe is pretty much exact – so you shouldn’t have to alter anything.

  4. Grease a bowl with olive oil, place you dough ball in and cover with a towel.

  5. Let rise for 1 ½ - 2 hours.

  6. Lightly coat surface with flour – dump out your dough ball, cover with more flour and you’re ready to rock.
